Gordon Honors Institute

Toward the pursuit of excellence

When you join the Gordon Honors Institute (GHI), you’re committing to a heightened level of academic and vocational excellence during your college journey and beyond. The Gordon Honors Institute is a community of scholars and is comprised of scholarship programs for first-year students as well as honors programs for sophomores through seniors.

Honors Programs for Incoming Students


Gordon Honors Institute Fellowship

A one-year honors learning group with extended opportunities across all four years, such as global study, internships and research. In the GHI Fellowship you will receive access to guest speakers, retreats, workshops and much more. Prospective students are invited to apply during the admissions process.

$2,000 stackable scholarship in year one; $1,000 each additional year with continued participation.

GHI Fellowship

Four-Year Scholars Cohorts

Each program, built on the cohort model, captures innovative facets of Dr. Gordon’s legacy in scholarship, social impact, leadership, and faith. All of these opportunities include leadership development, internship opportunities, mentoring and community engaged learning. Prospective students are invited to apply during the admissions process.

A. J. Gordon Scholars

Apply to an Honors Program as an Incoming Student

Step 1: Complete the Gordon application before December 1, 2024.
Step 2: Submit your Gordon Honors Institute application before December 1, 2024. 
Step 3: Register for Honors Day on December 6 or January 24. Fill out this form if you are unable to attend either of these event days.
Step 4: Complete your interview:

  • GHI Fellowship applicants will complete an interview on Honors Day.
  • Finalists for the Scholars Cohorts will receive an email to schedule a 30-minute virtual interview with an honors staff member.

Honors programs

Gordon’s curricular Honors programs challenge qualifying students to extend their undergraduate pursuit at the highest academic level. Students will advance understanding in their academic disciplines and growing faith.

Current students may apply after their first semester.


Go the extra mile

Gordon houses a variety of other distinguished opportunities that students can pursue during their undergraduate studies. In addition, Gordon provides coaching and mentoring for aspiring scholars seeking national and international post graduate fellowships.
